The Truth Behind the Mafia Wars Blueprint

The Mafia Wars Blueprint, the newest in a long line of recent game guide releases for Mafia Wars made its way to my desktop over the weekend and after giving it a read, I wanted to share my thoughts with everyone about how the newest in the current batch of game guides for the world's fastest growing social game turned out.


The Basics

The guide, very much like the other Mafia Wars guides, claims that it can help you learn how to be the better of the many, many mafia bosses out there. However, unlike a lot of those other guides, it doesn't waste time with very few details and a whole lot of common sense. There are some actually useful tips in this guide and that makes it a very appealing purchase for anyone who has ever spent more than 20 minutes trying to figure out what they were doing in Mafia Wars while their friends battered them senseless.

So, the early test was a positive one. But, how did the guide hold up upon further inspection? To my honest surprise, very well.

This guide is clearly written by someone who has spent a great deal of time mastering the art of building a mafia and dominating their opponents (something I am just becoming familiar with). They know exactly how to build a mafia family (and fast), and how to turn that family into the vehicle necessary to take down anyone that stands their way.

I've seen a lot of people make a lot of claims thus far with this game and to tell you the truth, they usually fall short, but Mafia Wars Blueprint really delivers.

The guide is about twice as long as the other ones on the market, is far more detailed in telling you exactly what you're supposed to be doing, and is updated regularly for anyone worried that they'll fall behind when Moscow hits the game.

I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical when I first started seeing FarmVille guides popping up. I mean, I'd never really played the game, but from the name I assumed there couldn't be all that much to it. After all, how much strategy could possibly go into building a virtual farm? But once I started seeing these guides, I figured it'd be worth taking a shot at the game to see what all the hubbub could possibly be about.

And I was actually rather surprised. Building my own virtual farm was much more enjoyable than I'd imagined it would be. Part of that was because there really were a lot of options and a lot of decisions to make. The more I played the game, the more I realized that there probably could be a lot of helpful information in a guide because there were just too many ways you could play.

I was doing alright on my own, but I was getting more and more curious about what I might be missing out on. After I reached level 13 and was having a hard time getting farther, I decided to give one of the guides a shot. I bought FarmVille Secrets, a relatively new guide and pretty up to date on the latest additions to the game. I really wasn't expecting too much, but this guide just blew me away.

In no time, I was the Cream of the Crop, a level 24 farmer with a Big Family Farm and tons of neighbors to visit. Using the tips in this guide helped me way more than I thought they would – even when I read them. There's a lot more to this farming stuff than meets the eye. Tips To Double Your World of Warcraft Leveling Speed

When someone sets out to level a brand new character in WoW, they can find themselves easily discouraged because of the long haul in front of them.  Yes, leveling can be a grueling process, but it doesn’t have to be.
There are bad habits that you can cut out of your leveling gameplay that will ensure your toon will never slow to a snail’s pace.  These “minor things” don’t seem to merit your attention, but they will add up to a MAJOR time drain.  By eliminating them, you also will eliminate the grueling process.

It really all boils down to time management, right?  It took me years of grinding, reading forums, and experimenting to finally pinpoint exactly what was keeping me from leveling efficiently.

#1 Letting Leveling Become a Marathon

How many times have you set your hearthstone at an Inn, and forgot to use it?  While questing, you can save yourself anywhere from 5-30 minutes of running to turn a quest in, if you just use your hearthstone.  Forgetting to use your hearthstone once isn’t that bad, but you can see how this adds up to wasting a lot of time.

#2 Overestimating City Attractions

While leveling a toon, you have to periodically visit a major city to visit class and profession trainers.  Taking your toon to a city to train is legit, but how often should you train?  The most time efficient way to handle the training situation is to visit the major cities when you are “in the area” and reserve going out of your way for when your level ends in 0; as these are the points at which you will have the most abilities to train in.

#3 Underestimating Travel Time

Beware of sitting in the AH and browsing for gear to level in.  Getting distracted by shopping at the AH is just one of the things that cities have to offer in the “time drain” category.  To combat this, you can make a bank alt, and park it next to the AH.  Then, if you insist on browsing the AH, at least you didn’t waste time by running your other characters 30 or more minutes across the map.  Not taking advantage of a bank alt may seem like small potatoes, but it’s a short walk to the mail box from the AH.

#4 Giving Away Control Over Your Leveling Speed

We’ve all had the thought that “hey, elite mobs in dungeons give a ton of xp, so I should just queue for random dungeons.”  But there are too many variables that can come into play and spoil the idea of dungeon leveling.  Yes you’ll be getting xp while you’re in the dungeon, but what about the downtime?  And what if you get a fail group?  Some dungeon runs will grant you a whole level worth of XP or more at the lower levels, but it’s not worth it if the groups drag out for hours at a time.

Look, I’m not going to sit here and tell you that you can’t dungeon and pvp with your lowbies.  But, if you want to be an efficient power-leveler, you can’t waste your time with those things.

Missions for specific classes help explain the story surrounding each class, while group missions are also available for groups of players to accomplish together.

The leveling process is made much easier by the existence of a helpful user interface displaying missions, tutorials, and the ever-important experience bar. The map is also a great tool for use during missions. After leaving the starting areas, Flashpoints (often referred to as dungeons) become available, in which players must complete difficult challenges as part of a group. Companions can make the leveling process much easier, as they can craft and gather items for players, even if the players are located on other planets.

Space combat is also a process unique to Star Wars The Old Republic, and offers players the option of investigating different planet systems while actively participating in space travel. Starting players should keep in mind that joining a guild can also provide great benefits, such as better coordination in Flashpoints and later raids, and help with professions. The wealth of content and vast expanse of the beautiful Star Wars universe will certainly warrant further research by the player before making important decisions.
